Ok its an odd question
So the other thread about the clicking sound gave me the courage to ask!

I have noticed that when I dive I can hear a faint sizzling sound. Sounds like very faint bacon frying (too bad it doesnt have the wonderful smell too).

I am assuming that because I can hear it in both fresh and saltwater it something to do with the pater and pressure playing tricks on my eardrums??

And if it matters I have never had problems equalizing.

Am I crazy?

Do you have one of those regs designed to let a continuous stream of little bubbles out?  I think Sherwood's do that.  Perhaps you are hearing that?

Re: Ok its an odd question
I've noticed clicking underwater as well.  Much less so in freshwater.  In saltwater I've found it to be really noisy because there is so much sea life which I suspect is making the noises.

If you are diving from a boat it could be the sonar your hearing.
