Long Lake
The dive club from Bemidji spent the day at Long Lake near Lake Itasca. Visibility 18-20 ft, surface temps 78, noticeable change in temp at 13-14 ft 73 degrees 18-20 ft 71 degrees with a thermocline sitting around 25ft. Some braver divers..decided it was too hot to struggle with a wetsuit, so we, (oops, yes I was one of the brave)went without, of course 18 ft was the max depth without getting a brain freeze you wouldn't forget LOL!
Lots of fish, northerns, perch, rockbass and smallmouth. Of course there was the school of bluegill looking for a handout during the entire dive. Best dive of the year! Michelle |
