World Championships
I don't know if anyone besides Fred and I are paying attention to it, but the world Championships are going on in Cyprus right now.
The main event is "Constant ballast". That means that you have to SWIM down and SWIM back to the surface without using any sleds or liftbags. Today Carlos Coste made it to 280' . Tomorrow Martin Stepanik and Herbert Nitch are going Head-to-head to see who will break the world record. They are both attempting dives to 305'. I had the good fortune to dive with Martin a couple fo years ago in Miami at the same time he broke the world record for "static breath hold". That means holding your breath in a swimming pool for as long as possible. He hit 8:03! Jon
