Dive team on site of semi crash
As tough as us recreational ice divers think we are, once in a while we hear a story that brings us back down to earth. Last night at about 3:45 AM a semi crashed into the Red Cedar River near Menominie Wisconsin. Not many details yet, but a dive team was dispatched... at night... in a blizzard... to rescue or recover a person(s) in (or around) a submerged semi cab... in a river with fast current. My hat goes off to that dive team, and to all dive teams that do what they do, so others won't have to.
Here is a link to a short article about it: |

Re: Dive team on site of semi crash
Divers who have the strength and skill to recover victims are, simply, a select and chosen group. Sympathy to the friends and families of the men who died.
