If yesterday's ice diving at Little Long Lake was any indication, I wouldn't expect ice-out anytime soon. We had somewhere around 22 or 24 inches, maybe more. (I didn't bring the tape measure.)
That was my first ice dive, by the way, and I got certified through Blue Wave Scuba. It was a good time. |

I just hope the ice goes out before the first of May.....It's been too cold for too darn long! Maybe if I get a tighter neck seal, I could put some fleece undergarments under my neoprene semidrysuit! I sure need to go diving soon. (Lee, Thanks, I had a good time in the pool at the Splash Party!)

A Divers World did their Ice Diving out there at Christmas Lake in Shorewood and the Ice was 28 to 30 inches....unless we have plenty of warm days like we had yesterday it is going to take until at least the 20th of April.
The Strokes say "Dual is OK".<br />The Koolaiders say "Only use Halcyon wings and 104's".<br />The Cyber guys quote a formula.<br />......... and the rest of us just go diving

Spring may be here sooner than we think....Sunday, March 16 a man and his son went through thin ice on Lake Harriett while out on their ice boat. Both were rescued safely though the man was in the water for 20 minutes. They were treated for hypothermia at HCMC.

If my kids didn't have a pool party today, and if there would of been now one planning a ice dive today, and I hadn't spent all my money on scuba gear and saved enough for a gas auger I would of been out there ice fishing with them on Medicine ;D wonder if the were catching any crappies ??? |

Looks like it may be awhile for ice-out up on the iron range with Virginia getting 32 inches of snow this past weekend! :o Anyone know what the ice conditions are like at Square or Perch? I'm guessing an awful lot yet. :-\
