Abandoned quarries by St. Cloud
Has anyone dove the abandoned quarries south of I94 and east of the St. Cloud area?

Re: Abandoned quarries by St. Cloud
Last I checked you cannot dive the St. Cloud quarries unless you are diving with a dive shop or have an insurance policy for a million dollars.

Which dive shops use that quarry? Who decides who gets to use it? Who owns it?

Re: Abandoned quarries by St. Cloud
I believe the city of St. Cloud or the county has ownership of the quarries. I called their parks service about it this past September if I recall. I think the dive shop in St. Cloud uses one of the quarries for training and have permission to use it for that. Unfortunately the general public is not allowed to dive in the quarries without a 1 million dollar insurance policy.

Re: Abandoned quarries by St. Cloud
The quarries you are probably talking about are in Quarry Park, which is located just southwest of St. Cloud.
Diving is limited to Instructor's using it for training purposes. I take my students there for their "check-out dives". They require liability insurance and Quarry Park must be named on the Liability Release form. Stearns County owns, operates, and maintains the park.
