Join the cause?

Lcldiver brought up an interesting point in a recent forum. Maybe the LDS needs our voice, as consumers, to put pressure on equipment manufacturers to stop anti-competitive marketing practices. When dive shops fight it they get punished. What do people think? I have never done this type of thing before.

Is this a cause that we should take up?
Are there consumer advocate groups that would help?

Maybe we could start an online petition that we could open up nationwide. I would be willing to help develop it. We probably need someone with a legal background to help write the petition. It seems like a good "off season" project.
