Re:Ice Diving Dream
They contacted me about the same thing when they read a post of mine aobut freediving under the ice on a different list.

They have a whole new TV show dedicated to making a dream come ture- as long as you can do it in 72 hours and don't spend more than $3,000.

Re:Ice Diving Dream
I thought that it would be cool to have a game of hockey. Underwater on the back side of the ice. This would be challenging but I think would be alot of fun. Since there is room for four applications for a project are there any others who would think such an idea would be fun? A hockey stick and a tennis ball should do the trick. A few boyant nets and a small playing area. I think since movement would be tough the rink would have to be a quarter of the size of a hockey rink. Give me your thoughts.

Upside down hockey, novel idea! Sounds like fun - two teams of three - you'd need to be very careful not to become entangled...

I'd like to do a night ice dive - cut several holes along the camp perimeter (ice fishing size) and drop lights down. Perhaps over a 'wreck' of some sort. If snow was scrapped away, the glow from down under would look eerie.

Maybe not too original, but I'd still like to do it (maybe tiki torches around the camp perimeter?!?!).

I can't see how you would avoid entanglement playing "ice hockey"? As precious as my rope line was to me , *NO WAY*! :o Now upside down skiing with your fins , that might be doable!!! Big Grin
The night dive sounds interesting too.

I agree with Jean, a funny idea but not a safe one.

Re:Ice Diving Dream
Now that would be fun...You could have a snomobile or ATV pulling a rope (ala waterskiing) out of the hole and ski inverted on the ice.
How bout an underwater costume party (with environment safe materials, of course). Kinda tough to eat those shrimp cocktails though. Wink
Personally, I am not certified for ice diving. I plan to do AOW asap. Currently, the first class opportunity I know of is in May. Hmm, maybe fly to Florida for AOW class, then fly back up to MN for the ice dive. All under $3,000. heh.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"

Re:Ice Diving Dream
I guess my idea was to have the line supplied in the $3000 allowence. Then three on three. With two persons on each line one being from each team. With four foot on either side of space to work the "puck". That would give eight foot between others on the next line, which would be ok because skicks would cover the ground seperated between them. No checking or anything more of an offensive type game.
