Re:Fossil Diving in MN
In Wisconsin I used to dive for fossils in Racine Quarry, just south of Milwaukee. I've never heard of another place around that you could dive for them, but I imagine there should be a bunch.

Where exactly is racine quarry. How far from twin cities?

What type of fossils did you find? How deep are the fossil beds at?

Re:Fossil Diving in MN
Chrinoids and brachiopods were the most common. I beleive it was a Silurrian (sp?) reef. The whole quarry is one big fossil bed. Rocks start in 5'.
Racine quarry is about 30 minutes south of Milwaukee, at least a 5 hour drive form the cities I would imagine. Jon

Re:Fossil Diving in MN
Any other lakes, quarries, rivers that you know of in MN.
I am looking to find buffalo, mastodon, mammoth bones and fossils. I realize this is probably a instance of being in the right place at right time, but hopefully if someone can point me in the right direction.....
