Re:Treasure Hunt Dive this Sunday at Square
My thanks to Larry and Chrisw who dove with me at the Treasure Dive on Sunday. It was a really fun time. Chris and I went out to get them "bricks" (these matched up with the prizes). I think the deepest we got was about 17 feet and the viz was close to zero!!!! I mistakenly tried to grab a brick out of someones hands because I could *NOT* see the diver that had it (OPPS!!!). Chris and I finally developed a search pattern from one end of the square to the other. And we both found bricks right next to each other...(YAY). Smith Diving served up some great food after the dive and gave away some wonderful prizes!!! After everything was over , Larry and I did another dive. We basically followed the rope lines around to the different platforms. But the viz was probably around 5 feet or less , in spots , because there had been some open-water classes out there earlier.

Water temp was 58-60 degrees!!!
Location was Square Lake County Park
Thanks to Smith Diving for putting on this really neat event!!!

P.S. I left my hood up in my car , and I wasn't about to climb that hill after it , so I made my first two "hoodless" dives of the year. It wasn't bad at all!!!!

Re:Treasure Hunt Dive this Sunday at Square
A fun time was had by all...

During the hunt there were about 36 divers down
feeling their way thru the muck trolling for bricks...

How dark and silty was it? I couldn't read my
gauge when I held it 2 inches from my mask. We swam
into, under and over several divers. We also were
broadsided a few times. You dont know anyone is there
until you feel them. Really weird.

Weirdest moment? I felt a fin in my face...thought I
was gliding to the outside of the leg...until there
I was...mask to crotch! YIPE! backpedal!!! and kickup
even more silt so no one can identify me!!! Now you know
why I wear a mask Wink . Anyway not my fault: Jean was
steering. Yup. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it!

My apologies to whoever that was!

Thanks to Smith for a fun event...awesome prizes.
