I know that 4 wheelers and snowmobiles are still allowed but this may affect how we do things for the rest of the winter. We were supposed to be the public safety divers at a smaller arctic plunge on Green Lake tomorrow. This was going to be in conjunction with a large ice fishing contest, but both were postponed until next Sunday in hopes that the ice will be better then for all the vehicles. There is an even larger Arctic Plunge on Long Lake near Isanti on March 3rd that may have marginal ice conditions.

                       I guess Joe, its a little like it was for me 3 years ago (turning 50) and having to do the colonoscopy tour. During the procedure, I told the Dr. all about icing, with Arcflash, Hydro, Scubafreak, Popularbear, Shooter and Detectorguy. He told me, not to worry that he met close to a hundred a$$h0le$ a month. I told him I could hardly relate, I only knew you six.  :-*          Trinity

Wrong again guys, I started posting all lakes with no motorized Equipment on the lakes today.

So, what are you saying??  No ATV's or Snowmobiles on the lakes in Ramsey County???  ???

              Grump, I'm sure you'd make an exception for a upstanding, decent guy like me, cause my big saw and I, we'll be out there, either way!

Well, there was no stopping us today.  What a great day for diving.  Great vis, great friends.  Can't wait for next time.  15" of good clear ice.  I don't know, it might not be enough.  Better barricade all the landings in the state.  You never know if someone will find a thin spot.  :

Grumpie,  if that were true, why don't they say anything in this report about closing ALL MOTORIZED VEHICLE use??   "Recreational vehicles such as snowmobiles and ATVs will still be allowed on county lakes; however, people using recreational vehicles and those who are walking or ice fishing on lakes are urged to use extreme caution due to thin ice and open water."

Weather and vis are getting really spectacular right now, the ice was cracking like popping popcorn Sunday, normally I don't hear much with my hood, but I could sure hear that, kind of weird underwater listening to that

The holes that are cut don't seem that big, but it's amazing just how REALLY SMALL they LOOK when hydro is in one.
