That video looks pretty good, ill post the one I took yesteday for comparison, I have the rounded lens, so underwater detail shouldn't be as crisp
Ran into weird milky water, could have been my light possibly but so far have seen white, green, red, and yellow hazy water.... the red haze turns to black when deeper

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
We were diving right at the mouth of a creek that ran into Skogman Lake, so that (more than likely) messed up the viz. This mobile fish house came around giving away small lures with their business cards. It was a neat rig that had 6 holes just outboard of the two tracks. When we told them that we weren't fishing but diving they were baffled. Here is a photo of their rig (thought of converting it to a dive rig crossed my mind).

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
We went out yesterday into Maxwell Bay on Tonka, leary of driving out, although one guy with a half ton pickup did, we pulled Sterves sled. Turned out we had just over 13" of decent ice, did a couple jumps on the western side here and vis was nasty. So we bailed, loaded up and went to a "secret spot" over on the south side, so secret , we weren't even sure where, we were, but vis was dandy 25-30' and real nice hard bottom to 50'. Young Jarrison James reeled in some perch while we jumped, cut three more holes here, have to hit this spot again, if we can find it.

went out to minnetonka... jumped maxwell bay, and that wasnt so exciting, so we went to excelsior and had phenomenal 25'+ vis and 13 inches of ice... amazing how the lake vis can be so totally different just a few miles away
terry and his chauffeur. on the fly pano of maxwell bay with hoar frost (full size ) heres another one of maxwell (water was kinda max-swill) (full size ) Terry thought it was so nice sat, he rode his bike.

LOL, and here I thought guys didn't need directions... ;D [/quote] Thats referred to as instinct shooting. just aim were you feel the chicken is going. once in a while i suppose you would cut a bad hole. but at that point like so many other things you have got to dive it. as we did this weekend.

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
This might need a new thread, but are there seriously only 7 people in the entire state of mn that go icing every weekend? Its either that or we are such a$$h0le$ that no one wants to dive....??? I can see wanting someone to take a class first, but if you figure 4 people a year get certified, that means everyone must decide its either not for them or they can't fine pple to dive with or what?

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
its one thing with 5 inches of ice and using a hand saw to cut the holes. but with 15inches unless y know someone who can keep up with the ever growing ice its tough. last year i cut a 4ft hole by hand that took a good hour of huffing and puffing, and its too much work. i will admit that im not a tree man and could only wish to yield a 3ft saw like terri does. my wife swears that if id experiment with one of the larger saws it could only end with the results being a loss of atleast one limb. ..... (and i dont have that many to spare)....
I keep daydreaming thinking that there should be some way to convert a hand held power tool to do the job, but that aint going to happen either.

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
just go out on minnatonka and look for a large hole and dive in and while your down there hook a cable on the car or truck so they can pull it out.
