I got my tanks back  ;D The guy at the dive shop was talking about their get together on a lake up north. It has sunken helicopters, Jeeps and a bus to look at. I cannot remember the name of the lake.? That is on the 18th & 19th.

I think I am going to pass on that one. If anyone wants to go they have so few people signed up that is looks like everyone will get a prize of really good value. Just passing on what I was told.

I penned this in on our calendar today.  It's a haul for me to Crosby, 200mi. one way.  What I write on the calendar sometimes (o.k. a lot of the times) gets over ruled.  "but I wrote it first, before anything else was on those days."  You'd think that would count for something.

Just so you are aware.  MSD is hosting their annual Dive Fest the weekend of 25-27.  They occupy the whole of Portsmouth Campground, so if you plan on camping there you'll have to pay for Dive Fest registration, and camping through them.

To me, this doesn't sound right.  It is a state campground.  How can they make you pay the registration fee while in a state park campground??  It would be one thing if they took up all the campsites,  but making someone pay the registration fee for an event I may not even want to be included in just doesn't make any sense. 

So, what happens if someone that doesn't know that this event is even taking place shows up at Portsmouth to do some diving?  Are they going to make them pay the registration fee as well?

Being the campgrounds do not take reservations except for the Group campsite and obviously the perpetual site inhabited by the campground host, The other 16 sites are available until they fill up. I am sure that MSD will have someone go there early on the 25th and pay for all the sites and put the little green notes on each of the campsite posts and then there is nothing you can do about it. There may be a maximum amount of tents allowed at each of the campsites and you may be able to snuggle a tent in next to someone elses but I doubt that would be much fun. The other way to get around it is to get up there on the 24th and pay $16 for an extra day even if you don't stay there on the night of the 24th.

I plan on going up Friday afternoon to get some campsites and to get settled in. Hey, maybe my dog will double as a heater too
