I'm committed for the next two weeks. I've got a guy checking out a conversion kit for my reg to get it serviced and converted to a long hose. So, I may not be able to dive, but I can tend for you in a couple weeks if there is still ice.

Re: Icing on "lucky" Feb. 13, 2010
i heard from a co-worker that does ice fishing on occasion, that motor vehicles are not allowed on city lakes... he wasn't positive, so i need to investigate further.
UPDATE: CONFIRMED with st paul and minneapolis that motor vehicles are NOT allowed on the ice.

Joseph we need to vote no then to city lakes, how about Orchard or Prior both south of the cities. T

Phalen plowed a road but maybe that was just for the ice boaters.
Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Does White Bear have any hard bottom? I know it's all very shallow so it's likely bad but I ask anyway.
I've been told Prior is poor quality by a few people so maybe not unless we have a known target. What about Lake Elmo?

White bear has a sand bottom at least where I dove near NW corner. It has a max depth of 83':

Terry,
What time do you plan on going diving on Saturday. I might be able to come and help. I am not Ice Certified yet. Bummer. I am missing out on some nice diving. :'( |

White Bear is relatively shallow with only the one deep hole.
Lake Elmo is long and narrow. The bottom is shaped like a valley a lot of good shallows(30ft) with lots of goodies on the long sides. The center of the lake is the deep part (up to 150ft if I remember) but mostly loon $hit. I have ice dived them both and they are both good. Bob |
