Meteor cleanup
I copied this from Tammy T on WISCUBA
I received notice of this important annual resortation project on the SS Meteor (located up in Superior, Wisconsin) and thought several of you may be interested in helping out. And besides- it's a good opportunity to get a behind the scenes tour of places and things that you don't get to see on the normal tour of the ship- and see it without having to pay the admission fee: All Hands on Deck! GLSPS, LSMMA, WUAA, SPM members and Friends of the S.S. Meteor! Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society (GLSPS, Lake Superior Maritime Museum Association (LSMMA) and Superior Public Museums (SPM) are sponsoring the âFifth Annual" S.S. Meteor PRESERVATION Project Saturday, April 25, 2009 and Sunday, April 26, 2009 This is a very worthy cause and if we don't attempt to preserve this one-of-a-kind Whaleback ship, it could be lost forever! Please come join us in preserving one of the only "Whaleback Ships" remaining in the world! We are looking for a few good men and women to help preserve the S.S. Meteor. We had a great turn out the last few years with this Project. Last year we broke a record with 40 plus volunteers helping out on this event! The Superior Public Museum's Board of Directors were very appreciative of the efforts of all the organizations that helped with this event to become one of the most successful ever!
