I have posted in the other Ore-be-Gone Get Together that I will be up there on Saturday.
You have fun on Sunday... This sounds like a cool diving spot.... (Guess I need some change from just Wazee and Crosby) Thanks...Jean ;D

Re:Diving Ore-be-Gone Sept 28th & 29th
Jason and I did three dives yesterday (two at Lake Ore Be Gone in Gilbert, MN and one at Lake Mine in Biwabik, MN) and had a great time. The first dive we did was at Ore Be Gone and Rick from Tall Pine Scuba hosted the dive. He showed Jason and I the two railroad speeders. I had my camera with on this dive and got some photos. Rick brought his awesome digital video camera system with as well and shot a little footage on the dive. I'll try and post my pics to my webshots site tonight. For the second dive Jason and I did a deep dive from the boat dock access. We went down to 117ft. Down just past 100 feet we came to a wall that must have just been starting around 100 feet because we didn't see it on our initial decent down. It was a pretty awesome dive but awfully cold! For the third dive we drove over to Lake Mine in Biwabik which is about 10 miles from Gilbert. We entered at a boat access and did a long shallow dive with a max depth of around 30ft. and found numerous junk items along the bottom. Several chairs, a big wooden wire spool, several trees and tree trunks, beer bottles, etc. and we also found a dive platform as well. There is supposed to be an old car somewhere but we weren't able to find it. Viz at both lakes was probably 25 to 30 feet I'd guess. All in all it was real good time and I'd recommend heading up there and diving if you get the chance. The one thing I can say that I liked better about Ore Be Gone and Lake Mine over the Crosby lakes is that the vehicle access is so much better. Ore Be Gone has a paved road right down to a picnic shelter at the beach area to gear up at. Lake Mine has a gravel road that goes down to a parking lot with a boat access.

Re:Diving Ore-be-Gone Sept 28th & 29th
You heard from the Sunday crew...
Here is the Saturday crew's dives... Both at Lake Ore-be-gon and our host was Rick from Tall Pine Scuba. Rick took Larry and I out to see the speeders...And he brought down one of his HUGE camera's to take still pictures with. I am dying to see how his pictures turn out compared to mine!!! (Yea, right...) Viz was great (15-20 feet) and the water was much warmer than the air... Second dive Larry and I went off of the cliff around the right side of the beach area (Thats where everyone goes swimming, jumping, etc..) I have *NEVER* seen such a pile of junk below that wall. But unfortunately, unlike some of you lucky guys, we only found a quarter. I did find a Butterfinger bar that still had the candy inside of it!!! Gross.... Anyway, my thanks to Rick for his wonderful hospitality, and to Larry, who braved the cold air temps to come up and dive. Thanks..Jean ;D

Re:Diving Ore-be-Gone Sept 28th & 29th
I want to thank Rick and the other Tall Pine Scuba owners for their hospitality. They are investing their time and money to create a great diving location. I can't wait to see what they sink next.
The Lake Mine Pit is also a noteworthy dive location. We need to do some more exploring there on the next dive. Jean, we heard that you guys found a couple bikes at OreBeGone. We were unable to locate them. Rick brought along a couple lift bags in case we found them.

Re:Diving Ore-be-Gone Sept 28th & 29th
Thats strange that you could not find them.
They were in about 15-20 Feet of water. I was hoping to get some pictures of them, but the water was kind of mirky, and one thing let to another...No pics.... However, I am going over to Wally Mart and pick up the pics I took of the speeders. Hope they turn out!!! Thanks...Jean P.S. Hey Larry, if you read this, how many bicycles were there??? (Pieces and/or whole bikes) I seem to remember one whole bicycle, and at least the front end(s) of at least two more... Just curious.... Hey, maybe I am just getting senile...Too many dives without a hood... ;D
