Detroit Lakes/ Otter Tail Area Diving?
A few of us were thinking about going diving on friday (4-28) in the Detroit Lake/ Otter Tail county area. I was going to see if anyone knew of any good lakes to dive, or any underwater features that might be fun to dive. Anything that is sunken or unique would be great. I have dove a few lakes in the area.... but nothing much to see besides fish and weeds.

you will find good diving in the DL area, lake 6 has a deep hole with a face that drops off over 100 feet but you need a boat to get out there, there are training platforms and an old boat in there, lots of fish,

chasing the cray fish around on bad medicine is always fun, you can get a good meal out of the deal, quite a way up but usuall great viz.

eagle lake in otter tail county is know for fresh water coral, they're are a number of theories on this and debate about what it actually is but neat nun the less.

Re: Detroit Lakes/ Otter Tail Area Diving?
vis should be picking up by this weekend in the area.. last weekend was pretty bad I had heard from a friend.. a little too close to ice off probably.  I'd skip bad medicine and do Paul Lake.. a nice drop off to 60 right off  the highway and a hole not too far out to about 80'.. I've never found that though..  Six and Seven are nice shallower dives from shore as they have the platforms and boats sunk.. and usually a ton of fish.. the other lakes are better if you have a boat.  I and a buddy, and one other fellow who is interested in giving freediving a go are planning on being in the Detroit Lakes area on saturday afternoon... but aren't sure where we're going yet... if you're still in the area maybe we'll see ya.

Unfortunatly I have to work on Saturday, so It's going to be a one day dive on Friday. I just talked to a friend who mentioned Paul lake, so maybe we might head that way.. it would be closer too.
