Ore Be Gone
I heard that the helicopters and plane have been sunk at Ore Be Gone. True? If so, where should I look for them? Sorry if this has already been covered! Tanks.

Re: Ore Be Gone
Anyone been on the new dive sites yet? How easy are they to find? Hope to get up there this weekend.

Re: Ore Be Gone
this was a response from tp scuba about depth of items stationed in ore be gone

The deepest at the bottom is about 65 feet the water level is down by 6 to 8 feet so with rain, lots of snow and the level comes up it will push everything  deeper.  We have white bouys marking the spots they are located at and they will stay out for a few more weeks. we are in the process of making a map with the GPS locations and some of the sites don't have bouys on them such as the south shore boat and car, 2nd speeder, plant cat and beach side boat.

The small chopper is at 35ft.   the bus is at 60ft,   the single engine plane is at 41ft   the big chopper is at 50ft,   the twin engine plane is temporally at 36 ft and not marked.  the speeders are at 30ft

Re: Ore Be Gone
I posted in the other thread about this as I dove there today.  I didn't know about all the new stuff, only heard about the plane and the smaller chopper and the buss- which we found all three (all marked).  I wish we would have found the bigger chopper and the other plane.  TP should put a nice map on their site Big Grin... now that I keep thinking about it, maybe I'll have to make another trip this year... Re: Ore Be Gone
Did a dive at Ore Be Gone today.  Viz was real bad.  It was the worst I've seen it there...10 feet tops.  Sad We didn't get a chance to see any of the new stuff since the buoys weren't up yet and we weren't sure exactly where everything was since we didn't bring a map.  We just saw the boat and the speeders.

Re: Ore Be Gone
four of us went up yesterday.  Vis was not good.  Someone said it's how it is in the spring, with the run off and all.  No fish, either!  Where'd they all go?  We did find the plane by the boat landing, but not the jeep?  Where'd that go?  With the fish?  Weather was awesome!

All the buoys are still underwater...except for one of the speeders...

Rick, do you mind if we let the  buoys up yet?  Shouldn't be any more  ice, hopefully!

Re: Ore Be Gone
I was going to go there yesterday myself but other things came up. Vis is usually poor this soon after ice out should clear up pretty good in a couple of weeks. If you are out diving and come across a bouy that is still down go ahead and send it to the surface. We will be going in soon to free anyone that isn't up  . As for the fish they will be moving in as soon as the water warms a little more The plane you found will be moving to its final resting place soon too We just ran out of time last fall and you should have come across 2 platforms that will be installed at their final location.

Re: Ore Be Gone
Yeah, we saw the platforms.  Is the jeep still there?  Funny that we missed it.
