Re: Wazee April 23rd
Sounds great Lonnie. Pat and I are going out late Friday and set up camp so we'll see you guys in the morning. Which site will you be at? It doesn't matter to me where we start. Linda

Re: Wazee April 23rd
Maybe site 2 for a deeper dive first.  Interested in doing a dive to the gazing ball & Mr. Scary?

Just keep me away from those gnomes.  I repeat, I will NOT dive with the gnomes.  >Big Grin

Which one is number 2? The old boat ramp,or sherwood forest? I haven't seen the gazing ball,I may have seen the gnome..or was that the angel? I,ve seen stars and stripes once, but I had a mask squeeze.

Re: Wazee April 23rd

Number #2 is the paved boat ramp. That Flag is at 183' I believe if I remember right and is right below the gazing ball which is at 151' and a little to the left. Pet rock is straight out from the flag which is at 209' Pet rock was named for me when I was sitting on this huge boulder comparing my computers on a deco dive I did there a couple years ago, it is a amazing site. A very large boulder sitting on the bank of the road at 209', My dive buddies said yup and there was Eric sitting on his pet rock taking a break. I have done that dive about 25 times. The last time I was at the gazing ball there was a gargoyle and an angel on each side of the ball. It is an excellent dive, but not a good first deep dive of the season. Especially if you haven't done a lot of deeper diving in Wazee. I would start with some stuff in the 100-130 range. Go down that bouy line and if you are facing the ledge swim to the left and stay in the 120' range and look for this out cropping of rock that looks like a huge face. We have named it for lack of a better name "face rock" It is really strange to see because to me and a couple of friends of mine it looks like a huge head. If you do decide to do the gazing ball, your computer most likely will hit deco, unless you are just doing a bounce dive down there. Over by sherwood forest there is a great wall dive with a very large cable that comes out of the rock at about 130ish... So that would be a good first deep dive as well.
