Me neither - that's why I'm so passionate about this subject. I am a technical diver, trimix and cave certified, and I do adopt the Hogarthian method of gear config for all my diving. I recommend it to everyone, but I won't fall into this pitfall of excluding people because they're not trained by a certain agency. Trust me, you don't receive a magic potion from them that's gonna fix your boyancy problems, nor is anyone with proper boyancy a god ;D - it's just a big learning curve, which takes years of time. Just ask people who have gone through the ringer and know what they're talking about, and then form your own opinion as an intelligent, free thinking individual.

In my experience, I resisted some of the DIR because of the "attitudes" of some
of those involved. BUT, as an intelligent, free thinking individual I have over time
actually gravitated toward a DIR system and DIR style of diving ON MY OWN.
Yes I have had help from others but more from a standpoint of gathering opinions
and not blindly following some person who visions themself on a pedestal.
I have come to know the advantages myself and not because someone said
I had to. So that is MY recommendation: read all you can, talk to everyone you
can, gather all the info you can, don't take any one view/person/info too literally or
seriously, and put that together in a way that works for you and those you dive
with.
Jeez, I'm almost as DIR as DRE. ;D ;D
