Chad, drysuits are definately the way to go. I'd recommend taking the class or if you don't want to spend the money on the class maybe ask a fellow drysuit diver to take you out to the platforms at Square or something for some tips and to run you through the inverted tuck and roll recovery drill. That's probably the most important thing to have down before you start venturing too deep in the drysuit. I didn't take an official drysuit course myself but did learn the drills and tips from some fellow drysuit divers. It took me maybe 10 dives to get to feeling pretty comfortable diving in the drysuit.
