It seems people are getting a bit defensive here... who's accusing divers of contributing to the zebra mussel problem in Minnesota? In particular, the situation in Brainerd? Other than the introduction of Zebra mussels via European cargo ships in the 1980's, the only causes of spreading mentioned in the article: "...typically are spread by hitching rides in bait buckets, on boat hulls and motors, or on aquatic vegetation left on trailers."
