Re: TRINITY'S 1st Annual 2010/2011 Icing/ Anchoring Challenge
Nate and I went to Forest Lake today and helped Art with 2 new ice dive students. Brad was there also so it was a busy hole. Nate gave me a 26 second head start and then he followed. The wind was strong but the snow did not happen, at least until we were done. I found two anchors and Nate found one anchor. Nate found the bone first and he propped it up in the mud (like we do with beer bottles to show the other diver the area was covered). I swam up to it later and it had tipped over. I grew up butchering steers every fall and I have never seen a bone that big. It is about the same length as the oxen bone I found a couple years ago but twice or three times thicker. ??? buffalo? mastadon? big honkin' cow? I dunno. I will get a picture later next to the oxen bone.
