Yes you are in fact very near sighted. I can gear up by feel, but walking down steps with thing past about 6 inches being blurry is cool the first time, after that it gets old. They do have a cover for over the lens to use when you have the mask on it does work if you want to carry one more item in. With all the disadvantages someday I'll probably get a new pair of contacts and dive with the mask again it does allow one to see more.
