Free Fun Dives: Wednesday, June 25th
As many of you know Square Lake will be a whole lot cleaner this Wednesday because Richard is running a trip to the Arctic right now, and won’t be able to attend this Wednesday’s fun dive.
However, we at Scuba Dive & Travel believe that you still want to get your dive fix in this Wednesday, so we are inviting you to spend the evening with Gramps & Dirt.

Gramps will be kicking off the festivities with a delightful jaunt out beyond the platforms to a little spot we like to call Fish Island. Many divers aren’t aware of this site or don’t know where it is located; but Gramps & his trusty navigational instincts will guide you to glory. This will be a great dive for those of you who have noticed a lack of fish in the platform area.

After the dive, the brats will be cookin’ for the famished divers of Square Lake.

When the sun sets I will be leading people on Square Lake’s largest night dive. We are attempting to fill the lake with more night divers than ever before in an event I like to call “You Light Up My Dive”. The more – the merrier on this evening adventure. Bring your dive light and a few cubic feet of air for this excursion. We’re hoping for 20+ people on this night dive to light up the lake.

Just a quick reminder that since the trailer won’t be out there, on-site air fills will not be available. Please arrange for a couple of tanks ahead of time if you intend to do both dives.

See you at the Square!

Just got word that unfortunately I won't be able to participate in this guiness moment. You guys will have to wait another week to see the "digital" results of our mapping effort last week.

BTW: I haven't yet mentioned that last week was my first Wednesday dive with the crew. Jean, ChrisW, Will, et. al. it was fun.. Too bad I didn't have time to light up the square with you on the second dive.

Richard, by now you're way far north, but thanks for hosting and grilling.

Oh, man...I better dust off my compass! Pressure is on! ;D

??? Is this a reference to the SD&T demonic scooter squadrons or are there hygiene issues about Mr. D that I am unaware of?
Yes folks, I am planning to take a nice tour of "Fish Island" where the grass is tall, the fry are plentiful, and legions of Sunnies follow you along like a pack o' happy puppies. I plan to be lake side @ 6:00-6:30pm so if you'd like to tag along please feel free to meet up then.

Sounds like its time to run a line from the platform(s) out to this wonderful place.
(There seems to be a line for everything else...right???)
That way you won't need the compass. Wink
I wonder if Dirt is bringing out the canopy in case of inclement weather???

Jean, that's a great idea.
Or, I could create, manufacture, and distribute a new line of Tech Tick fowl weather gear.

I'll call it the "Tech Poncho".

Dirt: YOU ARE JUST AMAZING!!! Your own line of outdoor gear. And so stylish too!!! And I think we have not seen the last of the tech-tic line of products.

I don't know if we need to remeasure anything yet or not... I haven't yet had a chance to plug the info into AutoCad to see what I get...

I was thinking.. Next time I'm out there I'll have to take a GPS reading and figure our altitude so we can do this in 3D....Nah, I haven't the time yet to take that on.. It would be cool though.

Re:Free Fun Dives: Wednesday, June 25th
I think we can officially call last night's SD&T Wednesday night fun dive "Braving the Elements"! Fun but wet and cold...sort of like our local diving huh? Wink

Thanks Darin from SD&T for organizing everything!

I think that has been the first time I've seen divers not scramble to get out of their wet suits and dry suits post dive to avoid overheating! Leaving them on was the best way to stay warm and dry..well sort of! And to think this is late June!?

I decided to blow off the planned Fish Island journey due to low crappy viz so the crew that tagged along with me enjoyed a long, undefined cruise around all of the platforms. Thanks guys...you did great!

Oh, and another round of "Happy Birthday" chorus goes out to Jean. Jean graciously put up with our teeth chattering redition of "Happy Birthday"...cake was yummy!

See everyone again next week...let's hope for some better weather!
