Those are pretty cool pics.. I was at the technology museum in berlin and they had a small area on early scuba... it wasnt very good to an actual diver tho...of note the diver in the exhibit had scba reverse mounted tanks... if I knew of a museum to suggest I would.. those are a good collection of pics.... anyone know of a museum with early scuba tech?

This was an oxygen rebreather your very smart Father converted over.

just discovered this thread- incredible pics!

didn't know there was such a long history of diving in the Twin Cities

I don't know much about the origins of early SCUBA gear but does anyone know if WWII had anything to do with fasttracking development of diving equipment?

I always figured Jacques Cousteau was behind all the early development, but perhaps not

especially liked the carp hunting shots- I have never seen any so old!!

[align=center]This is the boat Travis dive company sank for the local divers at Christmas lake. In the 1960s. This is a friend of my dad's, Steve Hallin in the early dive salvage business, notice all the latest electronics, CB radio dispatched.

Hi,
Thanks for posting these new great photos of Steve Hallin and your Dad Bob.
After repeated attempts finally got logged back on to this site.
Last Friday August 14th 2015 went to Christmas lake diving.
There is fence that you can crawl under or climb over it.
The road has lots of weeds overrunning it.
Visibility was 15 feet above the 18 foot mark (Depth gauge)vis dropped to 2 feet i located one small power boat,didn't venture out further.

Great Memories ,the first time I dove Christmas was summer of 1964.
