Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
looks and sounds like you guys had a good day!!!

I'm jonesin to get wet again one of these days, but doubt it will happen before the new year.  Keep me in the loop if you head for Crosby - I'll try to at least come hang out even if I don't dive.  (don't want to slow you guys down you know!)
Some people are like Slinkeys - not much good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs!

Speaking of cleats, I returned those crappy ones I purchased from Gander Mountain.  I just exchanged them for some different ones.

If it keeps on being above freezing and drizzling, we'll have open water again before it gets solid enough for Ice fishing!
My name is Lisa and I'm a SCUBAholic. It's been toooo long since my last dive!

Almost have a few times Pitbull, just noticed it when I went to pull on my mask. You should come jump with us man, its a good time.
After last weekends score of 20 anchors, I think Young Joe got the fever, and wanted to grab the reins on location, (Steve and I dont normally give up that call ) says hes got a few spots that are going to be dandy, so Young Joe, as soon as you limit it down to one spot to meet, lets here it! You gotta be ready to be, "ice hull dragged" if your choice sucks though.      Trinity

I am hoping to take you up on that offer. This summer was pretty limited for me to get into open water. I may have to get my "under" time logged this winter.

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
Last Sunday we went out to Lake Riley on the Carver/Hennepin Co. border and dove as close as we could to the border and still stand on the ice, in Henn. Co.. An interesting thing, the ice varied from open water to close to 6 inches thick, pulled up some anchors, an ice spud, a combination ice spud/ice scooper?, no doubt thrown in by whoever tried to use it in more then 2 inches of ice. Cut 4 holes, ok the last one was a spearing hole, consistantly hard bottom to 20' and vis of 6-7', ok for a lake that secci disk is only 2.75' on.

My apologise to everyone, seems my pics didnt down load, here they are,,,,, in the 1st pic you can see I tried cutting on the crack thinking it would save me working my saw on 5" on ice, like Steve did, but it was froze solid, had to cut all 3 sides.

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
went for a dip, but almost got blown off the lake as if we were a ship,
looking for steel underwater while you could feel the wind take you on top,
good thing it was a balmy 48 degrees on the lake in this arctic Caribbean breeze,
the sun was bright, and under the 8 inches of ice we needed no light,
if we found more anchors the conditions would have been just right,
I guess well have to try another night, no one is about to give up the fight.  8)

having a cool one with some anchors after a dive,,,

It was a very nice day for diving.  The wind could have been a little less fierce, but all in all it was fun to just be out diving.

On to the next lake.  Smile

Joe, that a poem? or is that more c rap? Seemed to read better when I had fiddy cent playing in the background,,,,,                  Pretty good time yesterday, but super windy, hit Minnewashta, in Carver Co. found a couple anchors, cut 5 holes, ice was just over 8" but the lake had 3 nasty ice ridges on it, one with the open water still in it. Lake had a high particulate count so vis was pretty poor. Gotta head up to Superior this weekend, just to enjoy some decent vis.
