It was good to see everyone.  Fun times, as always.  I can't wait for next weekend.  This time, I will be going "in" the water.  ;D

This looks interesting!! I am going to take your advice and wait a while until the ice thickens. Later this winter I'll contact you to watch a dive or two. Be safe, hope to meet you guys soon!

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
Yesterday was a good time, 5 holes and I didn't cut any of them, decent enough vis, especially on the clear ice, got reminded on the 4th hole to not ride the black down while you've still got your crotch zipper open, YIKES, that was cold! On my first hole I pulled up 6 anchors, and just like that it was back, I had the fever, swam like a beaver,,,,,,, it was pretty easy they were all hooked to a 2" pipeline. Good to have Popo and his family with too. Heres a few pics,,,Stephen getting congradulated by young Luke for making it out, Joe "easily" able to lift his stash, Steve showing even in the strong wind he still could balance on his haul, and towards the end of the day, Steve just "barely" able to lift his stash,,,,,

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
you guys are hard core. I always wondered what would happen if you flooded one of those viking dry suits. trinity did it in style. pee hole open submersion flood!but only because him and acrflash jumped on the stuck ice cut out
(to take a short cut ), both at the same time. ....and they both went down down down.. ha ha ha. I couldn't believe it.my pictures didn't turn out as nice. my dive camera works OK underwater, but above it gets artifacts, and i forgot my surface camera in the car, as i packed light for the slippery walk.

a would for posterity sake, mention that acrflash did redeem himself by finding two converging natural cracks in the ice, and with one cut running between them, was able to cut a three sided ice diving hole...with only one cut.. i was amazed. i wouldn't have thought it possible. that will make me forever paranoid and watchfull were i walk or drive on the ice..

also not pictured was a hole in one tree, with a giant frozen raccoon. and several ice anglers and onlookers who kept asking questions what we were doing. I love the comments by the summer boater, who just after trinity clarified the laws regarding how far boats have to stay from diver posted diver flags(150ft), asked "so how far do boats have to stay from divers?".....

that about summarized my summer in one line. all the boats that either kissed my diver buoy, sank my buoy.drove within arms reach of my parked boat(flying dive flag with additional flags all over my boat)or ran over me safely.

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
here are some pics. one is razor sharp. and one isn't. might have been my freezing fingers after being on water for 7hrs!

trinity has most intersting anchor in his arm. then 5 more spread on ice. he left afew more in one pile for next diver. I think arc flash said something like good luck, trinity doesn't miss anything. so i had to prove him wrong. i dug in hard and was able to find what in my mind was the best anchor a folding style one (of 4 in front row pictured in front). so i pulled 4 anchors more from that hole but actually i think they were Trinity's. I left 3(more) down  still. so that hole would have produced 13! Ice was soo clear you could watch the diver from above!

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
I asked the boss man about that. I said,"Terry, how did polarbear find 3 after you?" Terry's reply was that he pull the easy ones off the snag and stopped looking so the next guy could have some fun.

Polarbear, you spent 7 hours on the ice but we cut 5 holes and made at least 8 dives. That's about half speed because the FNG was slowing us down.  ;D
