I may be free this weekend. I'm not sure I want to try and shore ice. The vis is going to be very poor with the run off. Anything open in south MN?

I can't dive this weekend (had to send the drysuit in to get a thread that was pulling fixed), but if you guys do go out somewhere that isn't toooooo far away and need a tender, I can do that for you.

Good job Matt! You did PERFECT!  I'm surprized TRINITY didn't filter that, but then that part of his brain must still be on vacation. ;D

LOL...looks like TRINITY has a bit of an attitude. (Remember TRINITY, Steve only CLAIMED to enter and exit Superior in MN waters...Maybe you didn't have to forfeit. ;D )

I think I can back up his claim, plus Jim & I were in the water at the same time so he has to Share the winner circle with us (Plus we have video leaving the dock, motoring around and returning  ;D )

Re: First open water dive of 2010 (in MN)
Now that you mention it, Steve does use dry gloves and a dry hood with his dry suit... he may as well have been in a mini sub... If his mask didn't leak, would any part of him actually touch the water of Lake Superior?... Just kidding.

All this B.S. about the first open water dive aside Steve, how was the dive? Which part did you dive? anchors? Fill us in.

Re: First open water dive of 2010 (in MN)
We dove the wreck of the Ely out of Agate bay. Vis was ok. Water was 35. I spent about 45 minutes before returning to the boat. I got a good look around and was getting a bit of a chill so I went back to lay out and sun a bit. The sea was up to 3-5 feet so I swam out in snorkel gear to play in the wave. I always enjoy that.

It was a long but nice day.
