Good Ice Dive Sites
With all the ice traffic this season I thought I'd put in into a log form. Please add your reports.
White Bear is good. Hard bottom is easy to find. Vis easy 20+ Green Lake by Cambridge is good. Hard bottom. Vis 15+ Tonka Wrecks - Alwasy good. Milli Lacs - Rock reefs good but treasure is hard to find. 30+ vis Forest Lake - Bad. Very soft and vis 10- (last season)
Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Re: Good Ice Dive Sites
vis has dropped somewhat. We only had about 6 to 8 feet on Saturdays dive. I was speaking with a spear fishermen and he said that the water had just "turned" causing poorer visibility. We have a pretty good grid of the lake that we plan on covering yet this year. We'll keep thread updated |

Re: Good Ice Dive Sites
Big Winnie up Northeast of Cass Lake has great vis right now. Were up there this past weekend fishing 24 ft. of water. You can see all the way to the bottom with no trouble.
Sure wish I had my Ice Certification. This Lake would be high on my list along with Little Winnie just down river from Big Winnie. |
