Re: ice dive millelacs 3-22-08
Just spoke with hunters resort, plenty of ice, over 30 inches in most spots. We have a large aluminum anchor he would like us to recover.  Might be able to get a free lunch out of the deal ;D.

I guess Art isn't going to be back until next weekend. :-\ it's supposed to continue snowing today through tomorrow. I'm sure we would have enough ice for next weekend and less snow cover.  Plus there would  be one more person to help out. I can do either weekend , would prefer next weekend given the weather.  prm, arcflash ? We might be able to get a few more people and then have the possibility of two dive sites, make the drive more worthwhile...                  if the drive is too bad could always get a room and be there ready for the next morning

Next Weekend I'm out, kids are having a pool party. I'll be at the indoor pool chasing a bunch of kids around the pool... wonder if they would mind me bringing my scuba gear  ;D

Ceynote dives...Reef Dives...Shore Dives...Boat Dives...Night Dives  Tongue

While down there I had a sudden falshback ta Minnesota  ;D Found a pretty gosh darn big mushroom anchor...seems like they must not be good at tying knots down there either.

If ice conditions are still good I'd sure be up fer a dive under some hard water this weekend  Big Grin

;D
A Minnesota Ice dive sounds GREAT ta me!!!

Shooter an I have been leaving voice messages (seems that he's a bit high these days..that would be the knee-knocking kind from being at the tiptop of a building down in the cities).  We're lookin at Saturday  Big Grin

A spud that does not resemble a spaghetti noodle sounds like a big improvement for me :Smile

We'll hafta talk and set up the PLAN....Oooh I'm so excited I Have'nt had a chance ta do any REAL diving in a few weeks (can't really count those 20+ dives in Mexico they're just too easy)!

Re: ice dive millelacs 3-22-08
I'm good for Sat if the ice holds. After reading the Dirty Jobs post about the truck I'm not interested in driving my new van on the lake.

I can't wait, It's going to be so great!

I made 2 spuds. 1 1/8" solid round bar (A36 steel) and one 1" black pipe. Ones too heavy and ones maybe too light. I'm thinking of adding lead shot in the black pipe and welding on a cap to make a dead blow spud.

If I get the forge fired up, I'll make a set of ice hooks.
