$185.75 for the general public diver...
according to :
cheaper for members or rescue personnel... I've thought about doing this a few times before, but haven't been able to justify the cost to myself...

But it is cheaper than a trip to Florida and a hotel stay! Still, no passport required!
My name is Lisa and I'm a SCUBAholic. It's been toooo long since my last dive!

Re: Dive the aquarium
but it's as much as you can find airfare to Cozumel for on a fairly regular basis! and twice what a 2-tank boat ride from the top pampering dive ops down there are charging...
and more than even Disney charges for the Epcot diving... if it was something more in the neighborhood of $100, then I'd be more than willing. I still think about doing it, and one of these days I just might - but I would have to coordinate with a friend who has a 4 yr old that would get a kick out of watching thru the glass (plexi that is...)

Re: Dive the aquarium
Last year I had the opportunity to dive both the fresh at salt water tanks at MOA.
I know the cost argument very well and if anyone brings it up to me they are preaching to the choir. So money aside... You get to feed the sturgeon, stare down huge walleyes, and dream about catching crappies that big-- big as basketballs! Saltwater you get up close and personal with all sorts of sharks and the kicker is you get to keep all the sharks teeth you can find. To be honest everyone spends the entire dive with their head in the sand looking for teeth. One word of caution. Bring your own gear, if you got it, because the MOA's sucks. DIN users don't forget your converters. How often do you get to take you dive gear to the MOA and use it? F.Y.I. - You do get one free pass for someone to watch you from the other side of the glass. This is can be a great family event! |
