Perch Lake treasure chest

My son and I dove Perch Lake on Sunday.
About 75 yards from the boat launch, we ran across a treasure chest.  I thought it was a cinder block until I got up close to it.  An actual wooden treasure chest, metal corners, and lion head with a ring in it's mouth on the front of the lid for a handle.  I opened it and there was just a 5-inch rock in it.  I left it down there.

Any one know of this little "treasure chest?"  Is there a story behind it?

I had found it in the scoop shovel about a month or so ago and dumped it off at the location you found it at.  I was wondering when somone would stumble across it again.  I'm not sure who put it in the lake originally.
