fall clear water... what a pleasure
wholly cats we need a post under freeediving!!! I got to fdive for just a short time this past sunday at Little McDonald. visibility was the best I've seen in quite some time. was up and down the rope several times to the 60' mark, a little gray on the way down but opened up great at the bottom. I would imagine the lakes in the Vergas area are all becoming clearer now with the cooler weather, and along with the cooler weather next time out it's going to be a 5mil suit .. I'm such a whimp. Althoguh I was fine in the 3, it does let in a drop of water.. and that drop was cold. We're finishing up our house.. looking forward to much more diivng this fall than I've been able to do all summer. twice would almost be twice as much :'( There's one fella that's been trying to hook up with me to do some freediving/spearfishing but I end up going at such a last minute it doesn't work out. maybe others want to think about meeting me for a trip or two down the drop line this fall. I hope to have more time. hope hope hope

Re: fall clear water... what a pleasure
Hey Fred,
I was out Freediving in Lake Michigan last week with a guy who's been trying to hook up with me all summer. We had water temps in the mid 60's down to at least 80', but the vis wasn't that good, only around 15'-20' when it's usually over 50'. I felt pretty bad for the guy because his ear was locking up on him and he couldn't get any deeper than 30' even though he had a good breath hold. The wreck didn't start until 60' and went down to 90'. In the end he got sea sick and had to get out of the water. :-X If gas would ever come back down I was thinking about another shot up to wazee if your interested. Jon
