Re: FREEDIVE-A-PALOOZA 2005
Freedive-a-palooza is still a go, but the competition is off- unable to secure proper insurance and judges for the event.
Having said that, we still plan on having the underwater shooting range, plenty of fins, monofins, masks, wetsuits, spearguns and other toys to try. I think this year we might leave the kayaks at home and bring up more scooters. 8) We'l also have the "drive-in" movie system set up for Saturday night and, I'm sure, a few beers may be on hand as well. Still need safety-divers?
Either way, I still plan to attend.

Re: FREEDIVE-A-PALOOZA 2005
Mark,
Sorry I ddin't reply sooner but thigs are a bit hectic with a new baby in the house. It doesn't look like we need any safety divers, but would like to have you come out and give it a try. Your more than welcome to watch us at depth if you want- maybe we could even talk you into taking a picutre or two with our cameras. Should be plenty of people up there to dive with and extra gear to go around. Jon

So is this event still a go? And what time does it start each day?

Re: FREEDIVE-A-PALOOZA 2005
Yes,
Fred and I may meet up on Friday and hang out by the #2 boat launch. Saturday we'll start for real at 9 am, although last year I was in at 6:30 am setting up the underwater speargun range- which I think I'll pass on this year. We will meet over by the south boat launch to let everyone meet and get comfortable with eachother in shallow water. Sunday will be 9am again over by boat launch #2 to get a bit more depth. I would still like to gwet a swim in from the south boat launch over to the #2 dive launch. I paddled over it last summer in my surfski and there are some really nice spots that no one has runied yet along that streatch. Too long a swim to do with tanks on, but it would be great to freedive that entire side. 8) Jon

I plan to be there Saturday. #2 boat launch, is that the farthest one from the entrance?

Re: FREEDIVE-A-PALOOZA 2005
The South boat launch, whwere we'll be on Saturday, is all the way around the lake, past the beach, and furthest by road from the entrance.
Number 2 site is closest to the camp sites on the way in. Jon

Re: FREEDIVE-A-PALOOZA 2005
Had a great time. I just wish the storm wouldn't have hit Saturday afternoon and that I could have made it back Sunday. Thanks Fred and Jon for sharing your equipment and putting on this event. I never thought 70 feet would have been that easy. Maybe next year I will hit 100 feet.

Is that your screen name Keith or Greg? I have a few shots to post either way.
