Dive Into The Past
The Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society is presenting their annual Twin Cities Shipwreck Scuba Show "Dive Into the Past" at the St. Paul Sheraton Hotel, St. Paul, MN on Saturday, February 26, 2005, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. (Note the new location is near Hamline and I94)
This year's featured speaker will be photographer Rick Sass, who will show his photos of the shipwrecks of Bikini Atoll now called the Nuclear Fleet. This is a relatively new dive destination. The ships were all sunk by the atomic bomb tests. Jerry Eliason and Ken Merryman will also share new video of their three new 2004 shipwreck finds on Lake Superior. All indications are they have found the legendary North Shore freighter Benjamin Noble. Also hear about new adventures from Rich Dreher, Bill Matthies, and Jay Hanson. Spend a day exploring shipwrecks and maritime history and help support the GLSPS shipwreck preservation projects. The program includes both fresh-water and saltwater presentations, exhibits, and numerous raffle prizes. Tickets are $12.00 if ordered by mail -- $15.00 at the door. Student tickets are $5.00. Children 6 and under are free. Hotel rooms are available at a discount if booked before Jan 26, 2005. For more information visit . Hope to see you there!
