Minnesota Caves?
Does anyone have any info regarding Minnesota diveable caves and mine shafts at Crosby? I am very interested in any info that could be shared, especially Crosby at the moment. E-mail me directly if you prefer.

Re:Minnesota Caves?
The only comment about mine shafts in Crosby I have heard is to not go in them as they will quite likely collapse in on you. . There where not a lot of shafts since it was an open pit mine.

Re:Minnesota Caves?
While diving in Ore Be Gone last summer with DanL I discovered a little cave at around 50 feet off to one side of the beach. It looked quite large. I talked to Rick from Tall Pine Scuba and he wasn't aware of the cave I had found. I was told that sometimes the mine crews made small caves into the side of the mines for places to have lunch to get out of the sun. I did not venture into the cave so I have no idea how far back it went in.

Re:Minnesota Caves?
John mentioned to me tonight that there are some caves up in the Apostle Islands area. The caves are more like caverns. You can enter the caves, climb out of the water and walk around. It sounds cool.

Re:Minnesota Caves?
There are sea caves on "shore" east of Meyer's Beach
Located on Meyers Road, off Highway 13 about 5 miles east of Cornucopia The best sea caves are on Devil's island but there are also some fair ones on Sand island too. |
