I believe that they used one similar to the one in the second pic for the 35W recovery.  That would be the ticket, but not in everyone's budget. 

I was talking about just mounting a ladder with solid construction in the front of the boat that would fold down when needed and would pivot to a straight up position when not in use, or by the use of quick pins to be easily removed when not in use.  I have seen a picture of one, but can't find it at the moment.

I've been on that boat your talking about Bob....that ladder works great.
