Anyone ever use an iPhone underwater?

Just got a new iPhone and opted for the waterproof case, mostly 'cause I take lots of shots while fishing. The case claims to be good to go down 6 feet for up to 30 mins. Thinking about trying it for short snorkeling/spearfishing trips next season. Has anyone ever tried that with an iPhone?

My daughter is getting a new GoPro for X-mas and I'm sure I'll be able to borrow it, too, but would like to have my own setup as well. There's an iPhone mount available that hooks with all the GoPro mounts so we could share that equip. as well.

Any thoughts? I would also be using a safety float designed specifically to save any camera that might come loose!!
