Do the regulations require you to pull a flag if you are diving from a boat that is flying the flag?

I didn't think that you had to in that case.

I do think it is important to carry a flag. Boaters can come around after you go under, and even if you don't surface under a boat, think if you got snagged and someone started reeling you in!

Last weekend Mark and I pulled a float to about 40', then tied off and laid line to ensure we surfaced at the float (we have navigation problems otherwise :) Probably doesn't meet the regulations, but at least people know there are divers below.
