wetsuit - SUBMERGED - 01-27-2003 I havnt done any warm water diving, so I had a question about wetsuits. Do I bring my 3/2mm wetsuit to Cancun and Coz. Is it too thick? Re:wetsuit - Derrick - 01-27-2003 I use a 3/2 in Cozumel which is very comfortable for doing a weeks worth of diving. My wife uses a 3mm is a little too chilly and we will invest in a 5mm next trip. So, I don't think the 3/2mm will be too thick. Derrick Re:wetsuit - DanL - 01-27-2003 Jerry, I use a full 3mm and it's definitely not too warm - and I don't get cold easily. Water temps last Jan/Feb were 78F - you get chilly on a 45 min dive. Mark Madsen just got back from Coz - air temps in the 60's and cold in the water. He told me to even take a hood and warm clothes for surface intervals. I'm leaving this Sat for Coz and will be taking the 3mil and a 3 mil vest/hood combo just in case. When are you going? Dan Re:wetsuit - SUBMERGED - 01-28-2003 Hey Dan, I see you got lucky and received a free ticket to Coz. Good for you. I'll be going the 22nd of Feb for a week. I cant wait. Have you been using your Digital Camera on your trips? how is that protective bag working out for you? Thanks guys for the response on the wetsuit. Re:wetsuit - DanL - 01-28-2003 Jerry, Use the camera in the bag only rarely. It's too unwieldy and difficult to use and I only feel safe down to about 30-40ft. Anxious to see your latest camera. Have a great trip to Coz. Dan |
