Wrecks of Munising, MI - arcFlash - 08-17-2007 I just finished up some diving in Munising's, Alger Underwater Preserve. I got on 4 wrecks. They were all very well preservers and worth the 7 hour drive. Many of the wrecks are shallow so you can spend a lot of time looking around on a single 80. The downside is they are not accessible from shore so you have to pay for a charter boat. Lodging is cheap but don't expect much. We did the shore dive behind the high school (search WISCUBA). It's ether a really shallow dive or a great snorkel. We dove the pilings (15ft) but went back on snorkel the next day. I prefer the snorkel. I could spend hours looking around all the debris. Carmen, We didn't find the boat or the axel! we did find a car frame and a small boat but it was almost completely covered in sand. |
