Lake Superior Lake Trout - DiveMN - 10-28-2005
The Lake Trout are spawning just off shore in Duluth.
Went out last night in front of Fitgers on the old Duluth Harbor timbers. Saw many groups of 2-8 big ones 24-40 inches. They are interested in your light and will bump you or swim right up to your mask. Water temp was 53 degrees, very calm, but viz only 5-8 feet. Great fun!

Went out at 6:30 PM. Afterdark seems to be the best. Went again Sat night and viz was still 5-8 ft. Once you get out to the timbers that are 12 ft or deeper, you'll begin to see the fish. Also saw some big burbot, maybe 20 inches.
