Sunken Train Engine - smrtime - 08-28-2005

I heard that there might be a sunken train engine in Spider Lake (Cass County MN) . Just wondering if there is any truth  to it.

Well, I haven't seen it... but talked to a couple of old timers that have.  It is NOT a steam engine locomotive, rather a old steam engine tractor. (small but really heavy).  It is supose to be located off Hultgren's Bar in about 60' of water.  If you don't know where that is, it is just SE of the Old Mill Inn.  The bar is marked with a bunch of Bouys and it goes from about 3' to a drop off around 110'.  I have dove that area a ton and still haven't seen it.  If I find it, I'll post the location.

Jim,

Spider Lake, Cass County, we are in Kandiyohi County.

We should look into renting some scooters to help locate it since it is a big trench and quite long.
