save a dive kit contents? - dbarlow - 01-13-2005 What do you put in your save-a-dive/tool kit? Doug Re:save a dive kit contents? - willadams67 - 01-13-2005 orings mask strap fin strap some sort of a multi tool ,trident makes a good one. really it depends on what you use and what you can do. Some people include extra drysuit seals w/ aqua seal. or just aqua seal to repair small rips. Talk with your local dive shop. They will be able to get you some of the common oring sizes and help you put some thing together that will fit your needs. These kits won't takecare of all your problems but it will save many dives. For me it's almost always been orings. Having extras has saved a number of dives for me. It's not always you. Your partner might have a problem to. That is why I carry many diffrent oring sizes. Re:save a dive kit contents? - jasondbaker - 01-14-2005 Doug, pick up an inexpensive plastic toolbox from your favorite hardware store. Then add: -- tools: screwdriver, wrench set, hex tool set, cutters, etc (I like using real tools instead of an all-in-one tool) -- bungie and cave line -- o-ring kit -- first aid kit -- spare mask strap (and fin strap, although you should upgrade to spring straps instead) -- spare hose -- sometimes I bring a spare regulator (if I'm on a longer trip) -- spare batteries for dive light, computer, camera -- spare bulb for dive light -- spare mouthpiece -- zipties -- latex patch kit for drysuit neck or wrist seals -- duct tape -- camera housing maintenance kit -- spare storage media card for camera |
