Who knows when the Lake Trout start spawning? Seems like it's around the middle of October.

Where do you plan to dive? We'll be doing a night dive in a few weeks (10/22 ish...) in Duluth off the sunken pier by the Fitgers complex.

Its usually about mid October til mid November. Its great fun when about a dozen of those big guys (seems like they are 3ft plus) appear out of the murk and swim past you. Makes a good night dive too. Some seem to be attracted to your dive light.
Start at the concrete rubble in front of Fitgers. The old Duluth pier angles out toward the red buoy. Nice dive unless the water is stirred up from a storm. Then it's like diving in chocolate milk.

We'll be going below Fitger's...same place. We might try next weekend...15th-ish...I'll keep you posted. We're doing open water certs up at Ore B Gone on the 16th, if the weather permits.
