Re: Dump truck in mine - Shooter - 08-02-2010 Even though I should have worked on Saturday, I received a post from Trinity about three minutes after posting that I was going to work. It took me about another 3 seconds to decide I would rather go diving than work. (Part of my extravagant lifestyle, I guess : ) . It then took about another 2 to 3 minutes to get ahold of John & convince him to go. Managed to get in three dives. Visibility was a little more challenging than normal, but the company was excellent. Terry, it was a pleasure meeting and diving with you. John, excellent job on working on and improving your sac rates. Nice pictures too. Re: Dump truck in mine - doug67 - 08-06-2010 Well the van came out yesterday and the C.O. I talked to swears up and down the dump truck will come out to but I will beleave it when I see it. Re: Dump truck in mine - Terry - 08-06-2010 Ahhh, Doug say it aint so! I'm headed up to the casino at Millacs all next week doing thermography, and was planning on going up to dive the trucks again. Well, if anyone wants to hit mines in the afternoon next week let me know here, and if my new chevy van is any more hassle then its been already, we'll dive on it, otherwise we can just dive and throw back a few. TRINITY Re: Dump truck in mine - Terry - 08-11-2010 I went up to see the dump truck after work at the casino today, ( I missed it altogether on the first dive and ended up coming up closer to the south bank, maybe I need to dive with a big magnet :-\) and its easier to find now, due to the trail of debris from the back of the van (as it was pulled out it emptied itself out onto the bottom in 10-20' range). It covers the gammut of stuff, abrasive cut off wheels, saftey glasses, pipe nipples, fittings, both galvanized and "scrappable", clipboards, saftey vests, locate flags for sewer and water (green and blue), maps, though not the ones we were looking for. Then I dropped down the bank to the dumptruck, its settled into the bottom to the point that drivers set of tandems are totally submerged in the muck, and the rear axle gearbox is only one foot off the bottom. Water was dandy though, at 45 degrees, loons were calling, beer was cold, sun was out, a nice time. I hope the truck stays on the bottom. TRINITY Re: Dump truck in mine - DetectorGuy - 08-17-2010 The first link is to an article of the first attempt to raise the van on July 28th: The second link is to a small article about the van being removed from August 6th: The photos attached are from those little articles Re: Dump truck in mine - hansdive - 08-18-2010 Is the dump truck still down there?
