I agree.  Particularly to the right of the beach down the long narrow stretch.  My compass becomes useless in there and it's easy to get lost.

According to the map, looks like you may need a boat to get to the other attractions,  yes or no

No, you do not need a boat to reach the buoy on the other side...you can drive around and drive down to the shore, I believe.  There's another helicopter over there...

Yes, if you drive get on the highway heading towards Biwabik you need to turn into the ATV park on the right side and keep going past the park.  There are three other water accesses there.  I've been to the second one and the third one.  I believe the second access has the buoys.

Best place to get air fills is at InnerSpace in Duluth I know they are planning a trip up there this weekend I don't know if they will have a portable compressor
