Been diving during an ice out day up in alex with my 6.5ml suit, not bad.  Put some warm water in my suit before I jumped in so it was a slow mix of the cold water coming in.

I did my first cold water dived with A and A last Monday at the Crosby pits.  We wore 7ml and before we dove, I thought I was going to be cold for sure.  I just hoped it wouldn't be too painfull.  BUT, even through a couple of thermoclines and my face burning from the cold, the rest of me was roasty-toasty warm.  I even had to let in come of the cold water to cool off a bit.
